Rhodi

A system for accountable information sharing using a lightweight compiler and cryptographic hashing.

This is a persnal project that I have used to explore system to make information sharing more accountable. In fact I have always been impressed how iformation gets corrupted in office, where cut and paste operations are so common, also how easily corrupted information ish shared on the internet, with no clear way to verify its authenticity and accountability

Rhodi is a personal experiment I developed while learning the Rust language. It is an attempt to build a system that makes information sharing more accountable by using a lightweight compiler that processes .tmd files. All files are hashed to verify authenticity and can also be digitally signed.

The initial release provides the core library in Rust, along with a series of wrappers for different environments: WebAssembly for web use, Python, and a CLI.

The project started from my frustration after years of consulting for large organizations, where I witnessed a lack of accountability for shared content. Often, inaccurate or misleading information is concealed within proprietary file formats that lack any system for verifying information accountability.

This project is currently in progress, and maintained. Its goal is more exploratory and to provide a proof-of-concept for a more accountable information sharing system. I am exploring this concepts and learning by building a system.

This is an open source project, and I am happy to collaborate with anyone interested in this work and to adapt it to the specific needs of a given organization or institution.
